Skill Development

BTS, in the Sunderban Region, has launched a pivotal skill development program, chiefly assisting widows affected by tiger and crocodile tragedies and those in dire financial straits. Through a comprehensive livelihood scheme, funded by People Progressive in India (PPI), USA, we provide these marginalized women with sustainable assets like poultry and goats, benefitting 100 widows last year alone. Simultaneously, the initiative emphasizes vocational training in carpentry and two-wheeler repair. Building on this foundation, “Project Swabalamban” or “Self Reliance” further boosts skill enhancement, offering specialized training in woodcraft and motorbike repairs, especially for the youth and families with histories of wildlife incidents.
