Community Hospital

BTS, recognizing the urgent need for safe childbirth practices in rural regions and the importance of reducing maternal and child mortality rates, established a Community Delivery Centre (CDC). This laudable initiative was created in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, under the umbrella of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) instituted by the Government of India. This center has been a beacon of hope for countless rural women who, for generations, were compelled to give birth in unsanitary and potentially hazardous conditions, often within their own huts. The CDC not only provides a much closer and accessible option for these women but also aligns with the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) incentives as announced by the Government of India. This monumental step was ceremoniously inaugurated on June 28, 2010, by officials from the District Administration, including the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), the Block Medical Officer of Health (BMOH), and local PRI Pradhan representatives.

By February 28, 2013, the BTS Maternity Hospital had proudly overseen 922 safe deliveries. However, due to a shortfall in necessary resources, services at this hospital were temporarily suspended.
