BAIKUNTHAPUR TARUN SANGHA
From Crops to Clucks: Sheuli Karan’s Journey of Empowerment in Purba Sripatinagar
In Purba Sripatinagar village, Sheuli Karan faced tough times because of the land’s problems and the harsh weather. She used to grow crops but couldn’t earn much money. So, she decided to raise chickens instead.
Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha helped Sheuli and others by giving them special chickens and money to build small homes for the chickens.
Sheuli got 20 chicks and started collecting eggs after a few months. She collected around 1000 eggs in 8 months and sold most of them in her village. She earned Rs. 8500 from selling eggs and some male birds.
This money helped Sheuli’s family a lot. They could buy things they needed and also feed eggs to their children and elders.
But Sheuli’s impact goes beyond money. She became a hope for others in her village. She shared what she learned about raising chickens, helping her community to find new ways to earn money, especially when things are tough.
