Community Based Healthcare & BTS-Hospital BTS has implemented community healthcare project by Indian System of Medicine (ISM) for the poor section of the society since the year 2000. We are running Village Level Homoeopathic Clinics for providing low-cost but effective medical services. Besides homoeopathy, we also encourage our project-people to accept Ayurvedic (Herbal) system of treatment by initiating cultivation of medicinal plants and propagation of common knowledge on Herbal treatment for common illness. We have organized PSS-Parivar Swastha Sanghas (Family Health Clubs) in many villages comprising of 20 families in each PSS. Family Health Cards(FHCs) @Rs.50/- per month for all the family members in a family are issued for both Homeopathic & Allopathic Doctors’ Medical advice. AID-USA supported the venture for a specific period. Hospital As an improved shape of community healthcare programme BTS has taken a major step by establishing a Rural Community Hospital . Presently the hospital OPD is operational for two days a week with Emergency ward, General medicine, Pediatric, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Dental, Pathological tests, ECG & X-Ray, where 80 to 90 patients are being treated per day. BTS is striving for fabrication of modern medical equipment and further expansion of this rural hospital with provision of 25 beds . BTS undertakes emergency transportation of serious patients to the urban hospitals by one Ambulance and a Speed Boat. BTS also runs a Mobile Boat Dispensary (MBD). The MBD visits 4 islands (Kultali, Patharpratima and Mathurapur-II) regularly to serve the suffering people of 14 villages. BTS has been successfully organizing also community sensitization programs on preventive health care as well as HIV/AIDs due to massive male and female migration to urban cities like Kolkata,Bombay, Ahmedabad,Bangalore etc. |
